This post is for anyone who'd like to know more about this interpretation of Nuregami.

Name: Nuregami
Age: A little over 100 in her current form. She and her siblings were all part of the same being before that, and that particular being is eternal and ageless.
Sex: Female

Nuregami is the goddess of water in Okami, where she assumes the form of a great white serpent trapped in a flask of water. Encountered in the Sasa Sanctuary, she bestowed the power to control water upon Amaterasu. Later, after the death of Queen Himiko, she bestowed a second power upon the sun goddess: Deluge. A third, relatively minor power was bestowed as well; the ability to travel between mermaid springs for free.

Little is known about the Brush Gods individually, other than the fact that they were once all part of Amaterasu, and were scattered when she died as Shiranui. What is known is that they are capable of reproducing in one way or another, as many of them have children in Okamiden, Nuregami included. Each of them also possess a 'divine instrument,' much like their Mother, through which they channel their power. Nuregami's instrument is a flask of water.

The following is merely my interpretation, and is not necessarily canon.

As far as powers go, Nuregami has free control over water and rain (but not storms), the latter of which is linked to her emotions. However, her powers aren't confined strictly to water; Waterspout is used in the battle with Orochi to move alcohol as well, so I will extend this power to any water-based fluid.

Waterspout usually requires a source of water, but with the power of Deluge, there are few places that she cannot summon her own source from rain.

She, like the rest of her family, also possess the ability to shift between their animal form (The one seen in canon), and a humanoid form. Because of her status as a water goddess, Nuregami can also breathe under water, and swim as freely as any fish.

Nuregami needs water, and will weaken quickly if she completely dries out. Her clothes and hair are often drenched because of this. Drying out isn't enough to kill her, but it does make her powers nearly useless, as well as weakening her to little more than human. If she becomes too weak, she will revert back to her animal form with none of her godly abilities until her access to water can be restored.

Personality:
Nuregami is quite soft-spoken and rather timid, sometimes coming across as skittish. She always considers her words carefully before speaking, and tries to be as polite as possible, placing others' feelings before her own. An optimist, she usually assumes the best of people until proven otherwise, and even then, is quick to forgive. Because of this, she can be rather naiive at times, and tends to be rather gullible. She means well, but isn't always the brightest, and innuendo flies straight over her head.

Despite her timid nature, she is not a virgin (she has a daughter).
